/Having life last was the hardest task ever, living large was not hard at all though. It was not like they could live forever, not like they had all the time in the world. The rush of the hunt, of protection it was everything to the clans, it was their life and what they lived for./ Streamcloud thought, as she entered the camp clearing. The RiverClan warrior did not sit, not did she head for the fresh kill pile; she simply stood there scanning the camp quickly with her intensely colored eyes. The she-cat 'tsked' a bit and padded on until she found herself next to the warriors den, of course she was not going to enter though, she did not feel like sleeping not at all. She sighed, no, she snorted to herself and sat down next to the entrance. Streamcloud sat there quietly, not tired, just at peace for the moment or was she at all at peace? Who knew, but there was something bothering her, she just didn't know what.

»Brackenpaw« Brackenpaw winced horridly as he finally slipped back into camp, separating from his mentor after one of their particularly hard-hitting training sessions at the Depression. Just when I start to get the hang of it, she ends up coming at me harder than ever! Scowling openly, the apprentice half-staggered, half-tottered to the freshkill pile, his limbs clearly paining him as he tried to ignore the exhaustion biting at his flesh. Picking out a shiny silver fish from the pile, the light-tabby-marked tom, sighing, slid into a lying down position. By happenstance, the young tom looked in the direction of the warriors' den, as if somehow distracted by the lingering presence of his mentor, Rosethorn now that she was back in camp. It was in this subtle glance towards the den that he saw Streamcloud, sitting beside it's entrance looking expectantly. He gave the she-cat a small polite nod, though normally he wouldn't have bothered. Perhaps Rosethorn's disciplinary tactics were finally rubbing off on him. I wonder what she's waiting for... The cat mused, biting into his blackbird. [/blockquote]

╬Streamcloud☼ Sometimes what was bothering the she-cat was something to do with her past, but she could not quite put her tongue on this yet. She sighed and closed her eyes, maybe it was just because she was under so much stress lately with all these memories she was trying to recall. She had blocked most of them out, yet at times she wished she had not blocked all of them out, she felt torn somehow and wanted to know why. She opened her eyes and spotted a RiverClan apprentice grabbing a bird. Streamcloud nodded her head back to him but did not speak, nor did she move from her sitting position. The she-cat looked up at the sky then tucked her paws under her, this was all so confusing. "Hows hunting going?" she said finally looking over at Brackenpaw, the least she could do was talk but not about what was bothering her, that was personal.

»Brackenpaw« But I haven't BEEN hunti--oh never mind. "As well as it usually is in Leafbare, I'm sure." The apprentice replied somewhat flatly, his tail swaying from side to side in mild irritation. He hated small-talk. He hated it more then listening to someone brag about themselves, and that was pretty high up on his hate-list. "Are you looking for someone?" Brackenpaw finally mewed, unable to contain himself any longer. Normally he didn't care about the actions of others, let alone helping them, but to watch her sit there expectantly was painful for him. He hated watching cats wait, he hated waiting himself, and he hated the awkwardness that came with silence. "I can always try and find them, you know." He casually made note of her superior status over him, what with himself being an apprentice and Streamcloud being a fully fledged warrior; though he normally wasn't a fan of running errands for other people, it wouldn't be the first time he went out of his way to fix an otherwise completely awkward situation. ╬Streamcloud☼ Streamcloud was never one for talking, but it was just things to keep this off her mind. The warrior shifted at the apprentices answer, but then she caught something else he said. It sounded as if, if she answered in anyway it would end up in a talking about feelings conversation. She shook her head not to the apprentice but to herself. "Oh, I'm not looking for anyone, besides it's not your problem in the first place." She replied to the apprentice, it was a good answer to start with but yeah there was something bothering her. Why had she even gotten herself into talking in the first place, You are an idiotic moron. She thought to herself and sighed, her stupid memories were always bothering her, she sometimes regretted blocking them out.

»Brackenpaw« Brackenpaw looked taken aback by her words, but he quickly switched to a look of unconcern in regards to her feelings and current thought patterns. It wasn't often that a cat was disrespectful to him, especially when he'd offered to be of some use to them; the only creatures who'd ever been short with him was Frostkit and Crowkit, two cats he'd come to despise in his earlier days as an apprentice. Frostkit had now become a considerably decent ally to him since then, but the same could not be said for Crowkit, now called Crowpaw. If Brackenpaw ever saw him again... The apprentice's expression grew into one of cold ferocity, as if he truly felt that he had unfinished business to settle with the rowdy, arrogant kitten he'd bumped into a few moons ago. "Whatever," the apprentice mumbled, dropping his 'I've turned ever so polite since Rosethorn's been training me!' act like an anvil on a cartoon character. If she didn't want to talk about it, then that was perfectly fine with him.

╬Streamcloud☼ Streamcloud was not taken back by his words, he was just like her, knew that she could solve her own problems. The she-cat almost laughed, but what was there to laugh about except the fact the apprentice was trying to show bad behavior. That reminded her of something quickly, her brother, finally she had gotten a hold on what was bothering her. Streamcloud remembered the young tall hansom brother she used to know before he left to become a ShadowClan cat with his ShadowClan friends. The thought of him bothered her and that was why he blocked him out, but what was the use? The she-cat got to her paws and sat down in front of the apprentice, "Even if I did let you help, you would just plain get in trouble, do you want your warriors ceremony to be later and later?" She asked him tilting her head slightly to him. She would have enjoyed his company while going to fetch her brother, but they would come back empty handed and both would be in trouble. Streamcloud hated talking abut her past, but it still tempted her to tell at least a bit to one cat or a few others. [/blockquote]

»Brackenpaw« At her words, Brackenpaw scoffed darkly. "Not on your life," he answered a little too bluntly, and almost felt like correcting himself, but didn't. Not that Brackenpaw wanted her to get the wrong idea about him, but in all honesty, Brackenpaw would rather stay out of other cats' business if it meant that his life would proceed onward as planned. He didn't want to be an apprentice any more then he had to, thanks. Besides, Rosethorn will kill me if I get into trouble. Bitter thoughts swirling around inside his head, Brackenpaw looked at the RiverClan she-cat with a perturbed expression, as though not quite sure whether to stay or go - after all, he couldn't really be of much use to her. ╬Streamcloud☼ Streamcloud didn't want to think about it. How could it be avoided; like the rest of her past. She really just wanted to continue on, but StarClan had seemed to have put a burden on her. Though, her life was better then most, that was something she could agree on. Along with that, she had a Clan to take care of as well as the Clan taking care of her. This did not mean she could not take care of herself, but that she had something others didn't. She had pride, honor and something to protect. Streamcloud almost laughed at herself; she looked at Brackenpaw straightly. She was glad that she had someone to relate to. Yet at the same time, she felt that she could take care of herself."Good, because no cat wants to be like that." She said more softly. This did not mean she was being gentle with him, just that she was more relaxed around him. She looked at her paws silently, wondering what her brother was thinking right now, doubting it was her.

»Brackenpaw« The light-colored tom regarded her softly, his yellowish-hazel eyes fixing her with a piercing stare. He didn't mean to look at her so intensely, but Brackenpaw was having a hard time keeping his overactive thought patterns at bay; her words at the beginning of their conversation still struck him as odd. She's planning something isn't she? And I'll bet my own tail it's against the warrior code. Okay, so he'd figured out that much, and Brackenpaw didn't have to be a genius to tell that something heavy was weighing on her mind. But he had no interest and no right in finding out just what that was. Let her keep her secrets... Like a fleeting glance through a crowd, an idea suddenly struck sound in the young tom's head. If Streamcloud did something stupid, then would he himself get in trouble for not warning anyone beforehand? Could he honestly stand there in the face of judgment and say that he knew nothing about all this?
Mouse dung! Whether he wanted to be or not, Brackenpaw was no indirectly involved in this whole mess. He'd have to either get dumber and not pick up on so much, or see this thing through to the end -- both for peace of mind and ease of future. He didn't want to get into trouble for something he really didn't have any part of. And yet, because he knew this much, he was involved. It was like suddenly having a ball and chain around his foot -- restricted from ignoring the situation, he'd have to give it his immediate attention. "What do you mean?" Brackenpaw suddenly demanded. "What do you mean 'no cat wants to be like that'?" Like what?

☼Streamcloud¶
"It's bad for your reputation" Streamcloud snorted, that was sort of obvious. Having a late warrior ceremony just because you got in trouble. What would StarClan think of you then? Streamcloud remembered how she had a late ceremony because of an injury but that was a different story. "If you have an injury it's a different story but still, this is my problem" Streamcloud flicked her tail back and forth. It was the fact that no cat should be like her, mother dead Father dead and brother in another Clan. It's not like she could just make everything better by talking to him, no it would take more then that.
'Why is StarClan doing this to me anyway? Maybe they are cruel.' Streamcloud thought as she looked at Brackenpaw. Ravenwing probably did not care about her anyway. He had shown no emotion after their mother was brutally murdered. Streamcloud tried her best to cope and looked towards Ravenwing for help. Yet, he showed no compassion for her and just plain left. Maybe he felt that it was too painful to stay in the Clan his mother died in, or he just did not want to hurt Streamcloud anymore than he did. Whatever the reason, it caused her pain every day just to think about it.
