[ Lionstep ] A great staggering yawn escaped the maned feline before he could help himself, Lionstep shifting his weight from the right side to the left as got used to the leaf-fall chill. It was early enough in the morning that mist still lingered in the air, and his breath came out in front of him in small evaporating clouds of ice. I told her to come here early! To be fair, no apprentice would want to be up this early in the day -- especially one with a shorter coat. Hoping his apprentice would chin up, move her paws and prepare herself, the ThunderClan deputy HAD indeed told her of the assessment she would be having this morning. She hadn't forgotten had she? Unless she's off reeking havoc with Crowpaw... Lionstep stifled a groan, and then bit back a smile. He wasn't sure if Crowpaw drove him crazy or if he was amused by the apprentice's antics. Perhaps a bit of both.
Either way, unless Skypaw started showing impressive results, he'd prefer the two didn't hang out until her statistics improved. Of course, telling her that was likely to raise a few cranky retorts out of Skypaw -- but he could deal with that. Being deputy, he had learned a few biting comebacks himself, as he was being challenged by all sorts of cats almost every day. Some from within his own Clan, and some from 7 others. Still, not a problem. Having this particular job definitely built up the thickness of his skin quite a bit.

Skypaw Light colored eyes blinked open as a cold chill swept into the apprentices den. The little, but not as little as she used to be, she-cat groaned, curling up into a tighter little ball up against one of the other apprentices for warmth. It wasn't even a moment later those same eyes snapped open as she remembered what this day was. Mouse-Dung!" She exclaimed, scrabbling to her feet. It was her assessment! Probably the most important day of her life...well until her actual naming ceremony.
She darted out of the den darting toward where she was supposed to meet Lionstep, almost running smack dab into the large tom. She gave a little nervous laugh, gazing up at him. " Hehe, I'm here!" She mewed, before shivering as the cold wind blew. She looked back towards him. He didn't even seemed phased by it. Curse him and his long fur. " So what do I have to do today?" She mewed with a tilt of her head.
